Beats - Artists
Blackbird & Crow - A Pox On You
Donegal duo Blackbird & Crow are probably best described musically as Celtic folk blues with a punk attitude. An attitude that has seen them batter their way into the public consciousness at home and abroad.
Rosie Eade - The Fire
Rosie Eade "Folk-Pixie" singing out her love of folk, rock and thrashing her old nylon strung guitar behind stories of people, places, and gin. "An appealing touch of English folk influences ... clear and sonorous" (Bluesbunny). New album: "Folk Pixie".
The Blind Lemon Gators - Blues Mans Shoes
Scotland's best delta blues outfit with Greig Taylor fronting on vocals and Iain Donald's mean slide guitar accompanying him. This Blind Lemon Gator doesn't shed crocodile tears. What you see and hear is what you get, genuine expressive emotion.
Kev Minney - Borrow More
Kev Minney is a Brighton based acoustic guitar player, singer and songwriter. Taking inspiration from folk greats, Simon and Garfunkel, Neil Yound and Nick Drake, using open tunings and catchy melodic vocal lines he creates a dexterous and unique sound.
Ross Miller - Reels
In his debut album 'The Roke', Ross Miller has swapped the competition platform for a contemporary sound featuring full band arrangements, some stripped back performances and everything in between. He's what the pipes were made for.
Rainy Day Woman - Home
Drawing from alt-country, bluegrass and the folk canon of an 'old, weird America', Rainy Day Woman play sparse, unhurried folk music. Releasing their second EP 'Home' in February 2020, the young duo have been playing their unique songs to bigger stages.
Julie Abbé- Kellswater
From the critically-acclaimed debut album "Numberless Dreams" by Bristol-based folk and jazz singer Julie Abbé. Produced by Sid Goldsmith, it gathers beautifully crafted arrangements of Irish and English traditional songs and sublime rendition of W.B. Yeats poetry.
Lawrence County - Lucy Wan
"Lawrence County are a UK-based Americana-inspired alt-country and folk band hailing from the green hills and valleys of the Bagthorpe Delta, north of Nottingham. They draw their inspiration from local folklore, and tales of life, death, and desperation".
The Maniacs - Roodulum
Recorded in a Dorset church and based on C18th dance tunes, led by Belshazzar's Feast's Paul Hutchinson (accordion), along with Karen Wimhurst, Seona Pritchard and Gill Redmond, The Maniacs definitely reinterpret the Georgian hit parade.
Ned Roberts - Miles Between
Ned recently released Dream Sweetheart, building on his creative partnership with producer Luther Russell. Working from simple acoustic demos, the ethos of the record was one of invention and spontaneity - to create both a retro and modern sounding record.
Chris Elliott And Caitlin Jones - Carry Me Home
Described by Bright Young Folk as "timeless quality" and Folking as "strikingly accomplished," Staffordshire-based Chris and Caitlin bring a mixture of traditional and self-penned ballads about the Midlands and beyond, accompanied by the heartfelt stories that inspired them.
Katie Macfarlane - Mairead Nan Cuiread
Katie Macfarlane may not be a name you are familiar with yet, but it's only a matter of time. A recently released debut EP and a smattering of singles has fuelled her rise on the traditional Scots music scene and now she's ready to break out to a wider audience.
Ellie Gowers - Against The Tide
Warwickshire songwriter, Ellie Gowers, has been quietly brewing her self-penned songs for a while. A regular performer, her music embeds a fierce energy that echoes the 60'sfolk revival scene and is known to hold pride of place on stage with her strong vocals.
Daniel Hester - Rosin The Beau
A young musician from Lancashire keen on creating music that is unique and innovative, yet still authentic to the traditional music of England, Ireland, Scotland and the Sea. He was one of the artist selected to perform at season opening festival fringe Busk Love Folk.
Anna Cordell - Tried So Hard
Anna Cordell has always been a 'maker'. From her youngest years spent singing and writing folk songs on her nylon string guitar, to the first stitches of her design work, and all the way into motherhood, Cordell has a natural flair for creation.
Rich Hardcastle Band - We Cry When People Leave
The Rich Hardcastle Band is from York, UK playing well-crafted original songs with an Americana feel. Their much-anticipated debut album is set for release this summer and is packed with contributions from incredible artists from the UK scene.
