The Fatea Showcase Sessions are designed to provide greater exposure to artists that have impressed the Fatea team. Some are already signed, others are carving a solo trail, releasing songs on their own labels, all are dedicated to their music

Fatea Showcase Sessions are exclusively available for a three month period after which is will never be available again. The Fatea Showcase Sessions are zip files containing high quality, 256kbs, drm free, mp3s.

Biography:Combining two of Cornwall’s most talented and experienced young musicians, ‘Leski’ offer a unique blend of high energy fiddle playing and enchanted sounds of the hammered dulcimer. Leski pride themselves on their unique repertoire, which encompasses their passion for Cornish music and tradition.

Smoke Fairies

Biography:Doghouse Roses’ sound lies in the space between Pentangle And Fairport Convention with a nod to Gillian Welch on the way. They have toured with The Willard Grant Conspiracy, and release their new album in the Autumn. Short listed Fatea Best EP 2006

Biography:Touted as “one of the UK’s hottest underground folk acts” by BBC Wales, Ember present their acclaimed fourth album, ‘Open All The Doors’. Williams and Sullivan’s home-made songs feature their incredible voices and multi-instrumental arrangements on guitar, fiddle, clarinet and harmonica.

Ross Ainslie & Jarlath Henderson
Biography:Ross Ainslie & Jarlath Henderson first started playing together back in 2003 at the William Kennedy Piping Festival, and have since joined forces to create a pipe sound that pushes the boundaries of what both instruments can achieve together.

Cruel Folk

Biography:The traditional music of England is dark – it’s songs full of murder, incest and death. Cruel Folk perform in this tradition, telling stories of good people taking on the evils of the world, but not always prevailing.

Song:Making Sense
Biography:CURL are singer-songwriter sisters Heather and Megan Tilston. Their sound has been described as acoustic honey, refreshing and tantalising. Making Sense is a track from their debut album CONNECTION.  They are currently writing new material and plan to release new tracks online this year.

Ruth And Gary Wells
Biography:Ruth & Gary Wells – Secret Well respected on the Yorkshire acoustic scene, the unusual combination of Ruth’s exemplary playing and exquisite vocals and Gary’s melodic six string bass make them fairly unique. The have released two albums and one self written EP.

Biography:An acoustic folk/rock band featuring Monique Houraghan with a distinctive ‘honey-like’ vocal, and Dan Tucker with an intricate finger style guitar technique. Tinderbox have just released their second album, “Golden” to universal praise. The Dorset based duo have played Germany, Hong Kong, Australia, Fiji, New Zealand and Thailand

They are based in Northumberland and becoming recognised for their song writing talents, their instrumental versatility and their striking arrangements of traditional material.

Wingin' It

Biography:Wingin' It are a fresh and dynamic acoustic duo. Winners at the Celtic Connections '07 'Danny Kyle' Awards, and have since performed at festivals all over Scotland. They released the debut ep earlier this year

Biography:An acoustic duo, just over a year old, The Douglas Firs’ love of nature is reflected in their approach to songwriting. Their arrangements are untainted and uncomplicated, with the focus never straying from their simple yet strong melodies and thought provoking lyrics.

The Carrivick Sisters

Biography:The Carrivick Sisters are 18 year old twin sisters Laura and Charlotte Carrivick from South Devon, England. They play a variety of bluegrass instruments (mainly guitar, mandolin, dobro and fiddle) with vocal harmonies and are both songwriters.

Nimming Ned

Biography:"The name is Nimming Ned to you my fine friends, Thief, Vagabond, Opportunist and Storyteller. Want to know more? Then listen up !! Something has started” And that something is raucous folk rock.

Song:Jane Jamieson's Ghost
Biography:Megson were the first band ever to be awarded five stars in the online version of Fatea Magazine. They have carved themselves out a top reputation as performers both live and on cd.
